Gorillaz Play Damascus

Pitchfork report Gorillaz played in Damascus, Syria on Sunday night: “1,000-year-old Damascus Citadel for a special performance. The list of guest appearances is staggering: Bobby Womack, De La Soul, the Pharcyde’s Bootie Brown, Paul Simonon and Mick Jones of the Clash, the Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder, UK rappers Bashy and Kano, and Syrian rapper Eslam Jawaad”.
I don’t support boycotts of any sorts so I say good for Gorillaz even though they pathetically boycotted Israel.
No, I don’t support boycotts. But I loved to make an exception in the case of the fascist, oligarchaical (I know, I made it up) Bashir Assad and his band of cut throat mass murderers.
All politics is local.
This is what these localizwed scum have done to my family.
1. They stole all my father’s property.
and
2. They haven’t given it back.
and
3. They annexed my country Lebanon
and
4 They won’t give it back.
Having said that I have very close relations who live there and the Syrian people are wonderful.
So kudos to Gorillaz for playing Damascus and fuck em for not playing Israel. Unforgivable.
