Erasers Simple Melodies by Iman Lababedi

Perth, Australia, Erasers claim they sound like: repetition, rhythm, simple defines what this duo are will provide you.
Trance? Hypnosis? Stealthful four on the floor rhythms almost on top of, certainly crowding,  Rebecca’s vocals, and Andrews guitar lick going on and on and on. The definitive opposite of a hard sell, Erasers belong mong bands we love, like No Paws (no Lions), they repay both hard concentration and an offhand background. As though there is something on your mind but you can’t quite place it.
The No Paws (No Lion) reference was not an accident. Erasers record for Drew Gibson’s Solid Melt record label, and he also has a compiliation of artists who are part of the intriguing ambient with soul sounds Bridgetownrecords – Kevin Greenspon’s label, and oddly enough both Greenspon and Cloud Nothings are on a free compiliation from Solid Melt. I haven’t downloaded it yet but I’ll get to it. Here is the link:
Incidently, the great Vehicle Blues also record for Solid Melt. Go figure.
Erasers have a 4 song cassette only EP, Summer,  dropping August 3rd. Meanwhile “Autumn Trees” is a gently ululating songscape -it is a painting set to sound with Ruperts drum knocking on the inside of your mind and the washed out colors of Autumn drifting by Andrew’s guitar and synth.
Apparently there is a whole scene going down on Perth (reading Erasers reviews is sooooo inside baseball) and this brand new band have a whole lot going on behind it.
