Masterful Mastercard Commercial: The Way You Make Me Feel

Hot on the heels of the godawful AT&T “All You Need Is Love” campaign comes yet another wonder from mastercard priceless ongoing campaign. The “How Music Makes Us Feel” is so funny and accurate it serves as  its own sitcom and college treatise at the same time.

A young, scruffy twenties something guy is boppin down the street:

Punk Rock Download: $1
Dancehall Album: $10
folk
japanese pop
new wave hits: $3

He bops through a company and opens a door to an office, plonks himself down behind a desk and morphs into a middle age man:

the way music makes us feel: priceless

This is clever stuff indeed. I have yet to see anything connect the endless youthful float of pop music better -in the end part of what people want in pop, at least I want in pop, is that bopping down the street feel: the thrill of the new. A great commercial, hope they have a female variation starring Helen Bach somewhere!!
