Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Go Indie by Helen Bach

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus had one great song. But that’s it.

I saw them open for Blue October- and nearly offed myself. Terrible live. Worse than a bar band

2 albums in to their ‘career’ and they make a big announcement on how happy they are now to be ‘Independant” and away from their label EMI. Seems they feel they just weren’t getting enough push from the label

Said Ronnie Winter;

“I think some fans don’t even know that we released Lonely Road,” Winter stated in an interview last week. “We’re kind of just adjusting to the freedom at this point. It’s kind of mind blowing, once you’ve been at a label for five years, you get stuck in the monotony and the cycle of how to do things.”

Meg and Dia just said how glad they were be off label again.

Psst- being off label, being ‘Indy”, means no more paycheck

It means hauling your own gear and practice in your garage.

This is not a positive. You no longer have an employer.

You’re the ugly girl without the prom date who goes anyway cuz she “doesn’t need a date to have fun’, your the water boy.. you’re over.

So you can pretend you regained your hipster card but the truth is.

You’re one a million myspace bands praying to God your sisters friends come to your next gig so they can at least stand at your merch booth.

Congratulations!

You’re back to square one.
