“Got My Face Rocked Off”: Woody Fuller At The Allgood Festival

I got to listen to an abundance of new music this past weekend at ALLGOOD. Not necessarily new to the world, but new for me, so just as good.
Umphrey’s McGee put on an awesome show and rocked it early from 7ish to 8:30ish. I wish they had played later in evening, but they still had some 15,000 + on their feet grooving. My new favorite band from the festival was Lotus, who did an excellent job of combining great rock with a jiving dance sound. Their exceptional light show only enhanced the entire ambiance of the night, they did the 2:45am-4:15ish set.
Rebelution, a reggae band from Cali, help start our Saturday with great vibes and even better positive energy for all at the festival. They started at 1, so it was perfect timing to get back in rhythm and ready for the festivities that would continue throughout the night. Their “worry free” songs helped everyone relax and have a good time. Completely unknown to me before show was Papadosio. They in fact were one of the best acts of the weekend. Their style is really all over the place, using electronic music in combination with rock, jazz, house, and dub, and their long improv interludes only made it more entertaining; they can offer something for almost any kind of music fan. George Clinton was just as funky as you would ever imagine. Former Allman Brothers guitarist Derek Trucks along with wife, Susan Tedeschi played or should i say destroyed their set. The combo of Tedeschi’s amazingly powerful and soulful voice and Trucks godlike guitar abilities made for quite the spectacle.

And have to add how much Widespread Panic completely rocked my face, especially after a couple year hiatus from a live performance, long overdue to say the least.
Thank you AllGood for making everything All Good..at least for the weekend.
