1. September Song – Ella Fitzgerald – Not a great fit, the change in sections clumsy ups the lyric, and I prefer my Ella with a bit more tiskit in her taskit but the voice? You can only surrender to the immaculate perfection of sound and diction – A

2. Help Me – Sonny Boy Williamson – He’s not tired but he wants to lie down – A

3. Roller Coaster – Justin Bieber – People keep saying Bieber is finished, and maybe he is, but nor musically – B

4. Why Don’t We Go There –  One Direction – A perfect 1D song, light on its feet, melodic, huge fun and with a crashing through chorus – B+

5. As If We Never Said Goodbye – Barbra Streisand – Forget the song and the voice and you’re left with Barbra doing Mike Myers impressions – C+

6. Speak To Me/Breathe (In The Air) – Tom Stoppard and Pink Floyd – Textbook ethics plus Pink Floyd and plus Tom Stoppard whi grabs you from the very start here – A

7. Let It Go – Idina Menzel  – This will be a big song for Disney and I love Menzel’s voice but I find it very hard to give into this sort of songwriting – C

8. Don’t Say A Thing – The Brian Jonestown Experience  – Very impressive rhythm section – A-

9.A Good-Git Together – Jon Kendricks – No he doesn’t vocaliese but he sure does jazz it up – A-

10 On Sight – Kanye West – This is genius – A+
