Arcade Fire $70 Top Tix A Bargain In 2014

Here comes the night time tour

Arcade Fire must have a sense of humor, advising people trying to get tickets to the bands Barclay Center August 22nd and August 23rd , a Friday-Saturday axis in the heat of next summer, to dress in formal attire. I guess, if you consider shorts and a tee formal attire.

But if that is a joke, the prices (except for VIP of course) are very reasonable, top tix is $82 AFTER TICKETMASTER FEES. Around half the price of what we’re used to. The cheap seats are $40ish. And while I am on the record as being underwhelmed by the The Suburbs gig, Reflektor is a terrific album and should settle any doubts.

On stage, Win and company have been a little too steadfast to my taste, if they have a sense of humor it has never really shown itself and every time you catch the band with their guard down they come across like ten million kinds of jerks. But reflector saw a calming down and a cheering up, obviously we are all thinking Achtung, Baby. That is the real precedent here, even more than Talking Heads, here the band seems to be going about their business of reinventing themselves as pranksters and goofs, pop stars and dance monsters, the other side of the telescopic sound merchant super stars.

I haven’t seen em live since the MSG gig although I will note that ever since Win threw a Rolling Stone writer out of a can in Paris, they have done their best to change the public’s perception/

Still, who cares it they are fatheads, they got some damn fine songs to their name.

And relatively inexpensive tickets.
