1. I Close My Eyes And Count To Ten – Tracey Ullman – Of course her singing can’t compare to dusty, but this 1983 cover compares very well in a very joyful 1960s girl group UK style way – A
2. Stay (Just A Little Bit Longer) – Dion And the Belmonts – Maybe I am going old but I’m damned if there has been a song on the Hot 100 half this good in 2013… yeah I’m including “Blurred Lines” – A
3. Chinese Food – Alison Gold – be afraid, be very afraid – C
4. Sunshine Superman – Donovon – If you can get past the misanthropy, it still has an awesome first line – A
5. Mambo Sun – The Bongos – I always thought it was the lick but it might well hve been the drums that attracted barone to the song – A
6. In The Congos – The Bongos – Sounds fresher than the day it was recorded – A
7. No Surrender – Glee Cast – what has this got to do with the unfortunate case of a drug addicted actor who couldn’t get save himself? Corey was all retreat and all surrender and romanticizing is awful and so is the bridge to this version – F
8. Hold On – Margot Macdonald – Superb at Rockwood the other day, this early track doesn’t do her justice and it is still good, especially the ending – B
9. I’m On Fire – Slightly stooped – Apparently it’s my day for iffy Springsteen covers – B-
10. Everybody Out There – Paul McCartney – Sounds like Pink Floyd it pop mode – B
