Passion Pit recently did a cover to The Smashing Pumpkins song, “Tonight, Tonight” as part of some Levi’s promo Pioneer something or other. If you have read anything I have ever posted on this here blog, then you know I’m the young, “hip” kid, dancing his ass off on the electo/synthpop/ techno train. So, as a fan of this genre, I don’t really dig this cover they made. However, the whole band wasn’t involved, and that’s when they really peak on the groovy scale.
Anywho, for a wicked live show, Passion Pit is playing here in NYC, not once, but two consecutive night. The party starts, with the help of Tokyo Police Club playing at Prospect Park on June 29th. Then the following night, 6/30, on Governor’s Island, which seems like an awesomely fun place to have a concert.
