I loved her before Captain Lou stopped being her partner in crime and was simply playing her daddy in the “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” video, before the whole “True Colrs” crap.
Any punk rock girl with a dash of color way back 80s got called Cyndi Lauper at one point or another.
A great unique voice (singing and speaking) and a colorful upbeat personality personified the decade better than anything.
Shes grown up to a pretty cool woman, though seriously,the accent.. seriously?
I admire her for never selling out. Shes stood up to some brutal critics, has done more work for Aids awareness than your average pop star and here’s where it gets a bit more impressive.
Shes not afraid to get her hands dirty for a cause she believes in. Say what you will, shes a real person.
