There are certain songs that just hyper speed tunnel blast you into an emotion.
You can hear it a thousand times and whammo you’re there. It can be anything from rage (Night Moves – Bob Seger) to sultry (Witchcraft- Sinatra).
But there is a song that to me is noting more than morning after wake up twisted in a sheet in a strange room than “Incense and Peppermints’ by the Strawberry Alarm Clock.
I cant name you one other song by them, and I don’t love them enough to seek it out to do so.
But “Incense…” is a masterpiece. I hunted it down on Youtube, they look like co-eds at Yale. But the song oozes drunken sex in a dark alley….sorta.
So I raise the bong a fist of ‘shrooms and the bottle today to wish Happy Birthday to bassist, Greg Munford, born today June 21, 1949. Groovy Baby….
