We’ve been waiting for this one, haven’t we? With an album considered the best of the year by many of my peers under their belts and a full force return to touring for a salivating fan base, here the Del Lords are joined by one of the best garage rock bands around, Spanking Charlene, in what is certain to be the rock show to beat in 2013, Thursday, October 10th at Sullivan Hall. 

Monday – Chita Rivera – August Wilson Theater – The reigning Queen of Musical Theater at 80.

Monday  – Earl Sweatshirt – Bowery Ballroom – Sure Earl is another whiner from the new school of hip hop, but he is very good at it and Doris is the best album from the Odd Future crew since Goblin.

Monday – The Weeknd – Radio City Music Hall – Very 2012, but hey, now they are less cool check out these modern r&b guys.

Tuesday – Steely Dan – Bowery Ballroom – The Greatest Hits show

Wednesday – Sunday – CBGBs Fest – Various Locations – The free gig at Times Square stars My Morning Jacket and there are 700 events spotted around the city. Here is a round up

Wednesday – Palma Violet – Webster Hall – Of all the latest crop of UK rock bands, these guys are the real deal

Wednesday – 1975 – Bowery Ballroom – Manchester rock band coming up big time.

Wednesday –  Sunday – Ginger Baker – Now this guy is a legend, wonder what the mad man will be up to but expect 30 minute drum solos.

Thursday – Lydia Lunch – Bowery Electric – And Cheetah Chrome and more

Thursday – Ian Anderson – Beacon Theater – Performing Thick As A Brick, Helen Bach will be pleased.

Friday – Tony Bennett – Radio City Music Hall – Last man standing

Saturday – Arto Lindsay – Bowery Electric – The Lounge Lizard returns

Saturday – Jarrod Dickenson – Rockwood 3 – Killed it opening for Laura Marling at MHOW

Saturday – Five Finger Death Punch – Best Buy – The new album is somewhat on the awesome side
