Loser – Rock The Bells – The hip hop festival meant to play this weekend was cancelled due to lack of sales and really, where was the big name to sell it? Kendrick was to headline one night, Kid Cudi the other night. If people wanna see Lamar they can wait to the 105.1 Power gig or they can wait for the Kanye West concert and nobody wants to see Cudi very much. But really did they think a virtual appearance by ODB was gonna help sales? Plus, if they wanted to do it, why October? Sure mid-August was the date. Sure, the weather is nice enough but who knew that for presale purposes. So, there is a lesson for you. Outdoor festivals and Autumn don’t mix and for heaven’s sake, hire Drake for one of the nights.
Winner – Lauren Mayberry – Sure, I think the Chvrches lead singer is a sucker for punishment, reading all the hate mail when she could easily have somebody rid her of em. But to write an editorial condemning the incipient sexism, misogyny, misanthropy and just plain nastiness of men who comment on Chvrches Facebook page, is brave indeed.
