We haven’t made fun of U2 in ages but to be honest, it is less fun making fun of Bono when he is serious.
BUT -the claim that Bono’s cancellation of the second league of the U2 tour due to a back injury will cost the band $150M makes sympathy a lot cause.
1) Aren’t they insured?
2) I heard ticket sales were soft -believe me, they will be red hot in 2012.
3) And does the $150M take into account all the money they will make in 2012?
U2 want a piece of advise? They should do a three month small club tour. Leave the pyrotechnics at home and get back to basics. The last tour was a complete mess -they’ve lost direction.
I have never been a huge fan but around the turn of the century, I understood what people loved about U2. Now I think they’re a bad habit and they should stop fucking around with stadium tours, infinite overdubbing and hobnobbing at the UN and play rock and fucking roll again
