The 70s live? Well, the early 80s any way. However, I’ve seen both X and Blondie within the past couple of years and both are looking and sounding great. Blondie at Highline were just incredible, you could feel Debbie’s star power tingling and X?  And John Doe performing “Look How We Are”? Worth the price of admission in itself. Both bands on the same bill is a real thrill, so get thrilled at Roseland on Friday October 4th.

Monday – Steely Dan – Beacon Theater – Performing Aja no less.

Monday – Lorde – Webster Hall – I bet everybody who thought to pick up a tix to this gig are congratulating themselves!

Monday – Bastille – Bowery Ballroom – Very big in the UK rock would be Arena rockers

Tuesday – Kevin Jenkins – Triad – Soulful bassist with Doncker band release party for superb debut album.

Tuesday – The Flaming Lips – Terminal 5 – Sold out by the way

Wednesday – Phoenix – Barclay Center – The album didn’t do all that but it wasn’t bad at all. You could say the same for the opening act.

Wednesday – Joan Jett – Santos Playhouse – More of the same and what’s wrong with that, eh?

Wednesday – Wavves – Irving Plaza – Nathan never quite wrote the song he needed to move forward, and last time I saw them on stage I was vaguely disappointed. Still, when the band is firing it up they’re  prime rock and roll band.

Friday – John Mayall – BB Kings – The original blues breaker with master slide guitarist Sonny Landreth.

Friday – Hillsong Conference – Radio City Music Hall – Christian rock comes alive

Friday – Marky Ramone – Irving Plaza – Andrew WK joining in on vocals.

Friday – Local H – Santos Playhouse – One hit wonders? Not really, more like cult rock duo.
