Drake Sucks But the New York Times Doesn’t Think So

There are lots of things to like about Jon Carmanica’s profile of Drake bu none of them have anything to do with music.
Carmanica is stuck justifying bullshit like: “In the last 18 months, though, he’s become the most important and innovative new figure in hip-hop…”
Really? What did he innovate? Being half Jewish?  Drake is a really, really bad rapper. I lost interest in him around the time he stunk up Mary J. Blige’s “The One”. Perhaps being a rapper who sings is an innovation? I don’t think so.
Cudi is much more astute in every single possible way. Drake doesn’t get dance even slightly. has no interest in indie. He hangs on to the coattails of the big boys and rides up the charts.
Good for him, but why should New York Times claim any more than that?
