Who the hell is A.C. Newan?
No not Alfred E Newman, hes the dude from Mad Magazine
I was first turned on to Mr Newman by a very sexy beast who sent me the song “Take On Me”. A great acoustical song that I sent to all my colleagues here at rocknyc. I felt as if I had discovered the next big thing. For as much as I adore screaming Hardcore is as much as I love the quirky light stuff, well that and 80s New Wave. Yeah. Like an onion.. that’s me.
So lets do a bit of a nod to Newman
Well then, apparently he is the lead singer of The New Pornographers. A band I have heard alot about, but skim. Never took the time to discover. I’m not as adventurous as I should be. Especially with this gig you’d think I’d sort out a bit more for material but I don’t. The New Pornographers write ups made them seem like art school intellectualists and I have no time for that pomp.
AC or Carl, is a Canadian and hes married to the head of Matador Records. (way to go big guy)

These are all from 2004’s “Slow Wonder”. In looking into this I see there is a 2009 release “Get Guilty”.. OK which one of you sexy beasts will send that to me?
