The last time I heard from Lily Allen, she was being covered by T. Pain on the awesome “5 O’Clock”. So that makes two people we don’t hear nearly enough from. T. Pain has been away for two years now but Lily? Oh wait, Lily also made an appearance on Pink’s The Truth About Love, on the meh-y “True Love”. But still, that would make two songs in four years.
Anyway, she said she retiring but apparently she has changed her mind because this is off contactmusic.com, the last refuge of a writer with a deadline:
“British singer Lily Allen has announced her comeback with a hard-hitting tweet and a new website. The Smile hitmaker changed her Twitter address from her married name @lilyrosecooper back to @lilyallen on Friday (30Aug13), and launched an official website. She then tweeted fans, “Hello, im Lily Allen, http://www.lilyallenmusic.com… and, I’m coming back, b**ches.”
The website features links to a selection of her videos and an option for fans to sign up for a newsletter.
Earlier this month (Aug13), Allen hinted she was ready to release a comeback single after working with producer Greg Kurstin, who contributed to her 2009 album It’s Not Me, It’s You.
The singer took time off to become a mother – her second child was born in January (13)”
OK, well I’m down with more Lilly and will be more than happy to catch her live again. I saw her at T5 and was pretty damn impressed.
