It seems to me that China is transitioing itself froma communist state to a bureacracy and the latest manifestation is, how on the heels of the Chinese goverment banning Bob Dylan from playing in the country, the very, very popular musicial “Mamma Mia” being produced in China for a theatrical run.
The first time a Western musical has played for any significant amount of time (“Mamma Mia” appeared in Shanghai and Beijing in 2007 but that was very limitedly available).
The book will be translated into Chinese, but who knows what they will do with the lyric? It is hard to imagine a substitute word for “Super Trooper”.
