When rock stars are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, it really changes your opinion of them.
Perfect example?
Christofer Drew Ingle.
He was growing up right with his songs about falling in love or being in a long distance relationships, and then his lyrics went to losing his virginity and even contained curse words. Even under the “Influence” part of his Myspace(which I do my best to keep off of), it has a picture of marijuana. It’s pathetic and sad and disappointing.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m sure countless amounts of bands on my iPod have been under then influence at one point(ahem, Motion City Soundtrack), but to see them grow up that way and for their lyrics to change just gets me.
If you are a musician, someone’s going to look up to you as a role model. Mr. Ingle is having little 14-year-old girls listen to the music he writes while he’s high. What example is he setting? Not a very good one.
Don’t become someone that people will aspire to be if you’re going to be a wreck.
