Recorded: This was the week of the single and while I applaud “Applause” and deplore “Roar” and having nothing against the new TVOTR and Regina Spektor either one way or the other, still as week goes the week completely and totally was overshadowed by the pop single. PS I got help but feeling that it was also a bit of a disappointment as well.
Live: Freedy Johnston was fun, sure, but it wasn’t a major show but more part of an ongoing dialogue between a songwriter and an audience. Laura Jane Grace was a major bummer and still not all bad.
Sports: Things are going so bad for the Yanks that they can lose four in a row and still not put themselves in contention. Soriano had a good week if that matters any. Looks like the Jets are stuck with another year of Mark Sanchez.
Local News: Bill di Blassio has taken a lead in the Mayoral race and the rining shouts of any one but Chris Quinn are ringing around town.
National News: Egypt steps closer to civil war, Syria is in the middle of a civil, Lebanon is already infected and the question is simple: what do you want for Egypt a Military dictatorship or a Theocracy. Appetizing right?
