“Jonathon Low”, Vampre Weekend’s new song off the eagerly dreaded “Eclipse” soundtrack, answers two question:
1) Yes, you can write a song for the “Twilight” series without automatically losing every shred of decency and commonsense you ever had.
and
2) You can add boat loads of orchestration and over arrange till your, eh, baton is blue and still have a Vampire Weekend song.
Still, for all that, it sure is one of the least fun VW songs I’ve ever heard. Sure, that rush of speeded up sound like a wave rolling through the song, is there, but Ezra sounds a little distance on this song of some loser kid., “For all I know he died, killer Jonathan Low”. Nasty little fucker that Low. SO, not bad, but not the VW of choice.
