MIA Post New York Times Reporters Home Phone Number by Helen Bach And Iman Lababedi

Helen sez:
M.I.A annoys me. I did like “Paper Planes” but it lost its appeal the moment I saw her. Yeah, just aint feelin it. So now armed with dislike and her shock value video attempts comes news that the little puffball got her revenge on a New York journalist.

In retaliation for a bad review Miss M decided to use her Twiter account to hit back

“CALL ME IF YOU WANNA TALK TO ME ABOUT THE N Y T TRUTH ISSUE, ill b taking calls all day b**ches.” followed by the journalists telephone number.

There ya go! That’ll show her.

I believe that same path is taken by your average 12 year old.

I love that the journalist New York Times Magazine writer Lynn Hirschberg laughed it off.

What a jerk. Enjoy your 5 minutes, your on minute 4.

Sure, i read the New York Times Magazine profile of MIA. Well, glanced at… It went on for around three years and at the end it didn’t seem to add or subtract much from my pretty much set opinion of MIA as a gift musician and a self-righteous prig.
Yup, she had it rough. Really poverty striken place Sri Lanka is
NEXT.
The writer, Lynn Hirchberg, is pretty good. I mean all profiles are, more or less, profiles in flattery and felatio, but Lynn is a serious writer and takes MIA’s concerns over being threatened by  the Senhalese (she is a Tamil) seriously.

There are so mean-ish quotes but nothing that bad and to be honest without them nobody would believe the good things.

So I am not certain, except for MIA being a plank, why MIA flipped out over the article, essentially claiming she was quoted out of context. But it is fair enough. And posting the unedited interview is alright by me. But posting Ms. Hirschberg’sphone number while implying it is hers is kinda naff. Hirchberg has taken it in relative good humor, calling MIA a “provocateur”. However if MIA is feeling truly threatned (though when your father-in-law owns Seagrans and most of NB-Universal, how threatened are you?) by the Senhelese community, I don’t get it.
Yet again,  MIA comes across as a nasty piece of work. Maybe she is and maybe she aint but since she is married to Edgar Bronfman’s son the least she can do is get a decent PR company.
MIA might take Joe Strummer samples but she is no Strummer. She is not one of any people, she is now in a class apart and it is sophistication for her to fake otherwise.
