Now here is a band rock nyc writes about all the time but I only occasionally mention and the sad thing is., it feels like hubris, I discovered the Christian metalcore band afyer Helen and Mary kept on reviewing and eventually interviewed them, and when I finally got over my Daddy Knows Best bad attitude, I was blown away by a band… well here is a list of best metal bands:
1. Lamb Of God
2. Devil Wears Prada
3. POD
Those are my three favorite metal bands in order of preference. Oddly, two of them are Christian bands. And within two years and two albums, 2011’s Dead Throne and the if anything superior, hat in the ring for one of the best live albums you’ll ever hear 2012’s Dead And Alive, my respect for the band couldn’t be much higher.
This is Mary Magpie’s review from nearly exactly a year ago at the Mayhem Fest and listening to the brilliant “Kansas” it is hard to deny the band is one of the greats. The class of 2005 has come home to roost and the band that was so good to rock nyc in the early days of the website have made good on everything we claimed for them.
They are playing Best Buy on Best Buy on December 17th, a Thursday but we will have to suck it up. Take the day off school, God will understand.
