New Album Releases: This was the week of Marc Anthony’s Salsa masterpiece with the return of Sergio Georges after a ten year break. After that, check out Alunageorge and Vince Gill. So Latin American, EDM and 1960s country. What a life!!!

Live Concerts: The story of not just concerts but the week, was the closing of Maxwell’s after 25 years, the last night a very moving experience. Otherwise, D’Angelo cancelled and Beyonce came home.

The Charts: The summer snooze continues though, surprisingly enough, Selena Gomez was top of the album charts! I bet that doesn’t survive the next week. I gues that also means, Jay Z is down to some 50K a week moved and the album is about to disappear if they can’t find another hit.

Sports: A-Rod hasn’t been suspended yet and Jeter returned to the Yanks off the DL with a first pitch home run. And they are currently 7 1/2 games out of first.

Local News: All penises all the time.

National News: Russia should be very very careful when embarrassing President Obama. Putin should give Obama every thing he needs to keep face and never should have granted Edward Snowden asylum. The better Obama appears at Foreign Policy, the more isolationist the Yanks will become, and the better it is for Russia. This was bushleague bullshit from Putin. It was bad politics
