You may not notice but I don’t do obituary’s. Death and I don’t get along too well and to be quite honest with you Ive seen WAY too much of it. But my brothers and sisters here may not know that today is the anniversary of all of our heroes death.
Frank Sinatra died today in 1998. Hard to believe really but I tried not to pay attention to him in the older days. Give me that sexy fedora wearing crooner, no really please do.
I don’t give a crap if he was in the mafia or if he shot a man I don’t care about any of that at all.
I have 2 songs by Franky that to this day, after hearing them thousands and thousands of times still stop me in my tracks and stop my heart.
Witchcraft- Amazing. This my friends is swaggah. This song is sexier than any song EVER and there ain’t one grunt in it, no mention of blow jobs or screwing or asses or anything…..nothing. G as rated G gets. Yet I am certain it ushered in many a sultry night. Also there is a duet with Presley doing Love Me Tender that’s insane…totally.
Fly Me To The Moon- Sinatra’s voice is the exact sound pitch and power of falling in love. This is a song you dance to barefoot in the backyard to, hopefully with a cute boy who can dip ya properly without dropping a girl on her head. Pure swinging swirly headed love.
I wont mourn this day but I will pop in some Sinatra bootlegs and play it loud.
So should all of you.
Hats off to ol’ Blue Eyes, thanks for everything.
