Hot on the heels of Spotify’s disastrous upgrade of their “Discover” function, which replaced the much better and more important new releases with an hysterical inaccurate algorithm whereby ridiculous recommendations for further listening are made (and roundly ignored by me), comes an upgrade that is as awesome as you can imagine.

Yes, folks, you can now use Spotify on your browser!! How important is this? It is pretty important, it is pretty big, it kinda makes their software redundant and puts it ona level with Facebook and Twitter and ahead of ITunes. Which you can’t listen to it offline if you only use your browser, still, if you wanan use Spotify at work, it becomes just another webpage and lies off your main server.

And if you wanna just have it open like anything else it has the ubiquity inherent in a website.

Words of doom seem to be surrounding Spotify ever since ITunes broke IRadio and really, if ITunes had a streaming service who wouldn’t get it (I would use both for awhile but eventually choose one over the other, since I prefer Spotify’s interface over ITunes, I wouldn’t guarantee that Apple would win.

So Spotify have gone one for two. While it is nearly imposible to discover new music on Spotify and that is a loss, and they are terrible at suggesting new music, and that’s a problem, this is still a huge improvement.
