After getting pissy wth Chris Keating for his gratuitous Presley slam in New York magazine this week, I went back to their sophomore album (I haven’t heard their first one) to see if my dismissal stood up.
And, yeah, I guess so. For what its worth. “Ambling Alp”, a sorta BeeGeer falsatetto heavy twiddled rhyhmed thingy. “Madder Red” and “O.N.E.” are also fab by me, “madder red” a folky construction and “O.N.E.’ with a sexy and very sweet natured verse.
nd the rest is a waste of space… all sonic doodling…
So the response remains… IT RUNS OUTTA STEAM.
