Julie Andrews performed “A Night With Julie Andrews” Saturday in London. According to contactmusic.com she said: “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but here on this stage with you tonight. I can still sing the hell out of Old Man River.”
Still according tothe website :”…during the show she belted out numbers from hit musicals including The King and I, Carousel and South Pacific. “
And she ended the night with “Edelweiss”.
Please, please, please Julie bringing this show to broadway -this is your home afterall!!
I saw Julie twice in the only possible reason for going being her appearance “Victor/Victoria” but would hive a helluva lot to hear her sing stuff fro, My Fair Lady and The Sound Of Music (and Mary Poppins!!!). With the fear (indeed the promise) that Julie could no longer singer after a throat operation in 1997 it is a miracle and a joy to have the wonderful woman in full voice!!!
