Happy Birthday George Wadenius!!!
(who the hell is that, .. you’re asking aintcha?)
Well its the guitarist for Blood Sweat and Tears. One of my earliest musical memories is jumping up and down on my parents bed siging ‘Spinning Wheel’, not kidding and I’m not checking what year that song came out cuz it may prove that Ive always been a nerd.
What a stony gravel vocal that song has what a kick as horn section! I popped it on to write this and suddenly I want to go jump on my bed but its a pretty nice sleigh bed and Id smack my head on a ceiling fan, not the same effect it had when I was shorter.
I just went to their website and they look like the freakin Shriner’s or the Moose Lodge or something.. Iman don’t…don’t do it.. Put up a picture of them in their hay day, I beg you. Holy Shit there’s like 200 people in the band too, how the heck did they divide the checks?
“You Make Me So Very Happy” is a so dated. But still contagious. Would it fly today? We should pass it to young lovers out there to see if they bite. But what a sappy grin it evokes. “lovn you is where its at” is so shagadelic. Awww, thank you Baby.
How about “When I Die”? Yeah its like a freakin death polka!
“And when I die, and When Im dead and gone
there’ll be one child born in the world to carry on”
but they wont be as cool as me.
and don’t laugh but theres a coconut solo toward the, seriously
Cake and a trumpet trill to George.
