Winner – Icona Pop – Despite a top ten hit single with “I Love It”, Icona Pop were just another electronic duo from Stockholm in most of our minds until their Saturday afternoon set at the Governor’s ball spelled out the youth, beauty, smart, mingling of harmonies over beats and inspired reworkings of pop staples like “It’s My Party” , that makes for a thrilling new super super super group.
Loser – Kanye West – Barely two days after proving it for 90 minutes straight, Kweezy was up to his neck in girlfriends, mistresses and over the top pronouncements to the dopes at New York Post. West has everything going for him except an edit button. It isn’t even that he lacks humility, his problems is that he has so much insecurities he hides it in over excitation.
