Whether it is rock nyc or Huffington Post hailing her “Piece For Peace”, an instantaneously classic she performed for the first time in Communist China, which, you gotta think right? That’s scary stuff right there.
Marla is in the heart of her career right now and I am guessing we will be getting plenty of the excellent Speak, with stuff like the lilting “Annarexia” rubadubdub Bill Laswell remix and songs like the howling quasi art freaked out “Scream (Reprise)”. and the Tomas Doncker band backing her up, is it wrong to expect great great things?
I can’t make it, I am seeing Kris Kristofferson (why are there no more afternoon shows? I could have made a 3pm) but I might well make the august 17th gig, that is my plan any way. On the other hand, you should take Marla at her word and hie thee to the thorough borough, Von King Park in Bed Stuy for the free 7pm show.
