The only time I’ve seen Kris Kristofferson on stage before I will be catching him at The Concert Hall on Saturday, was opening for the late legend George Jones at Carnegie Hall. Kris was absolutely brilliant with just an acoustic guitar. I can’t wait to see him with a full band.

Monday – The Olms – Gramercy Theater – Pete Yorn’s band.  No less a dignitary than Vic Garbarini compared their debut album to unheard Gene Clark demos.

Monday – The Drums – Studio At Webster Hall – Their second album Portamento stiffed and it  deserved a better fate. The Drums are purely fabulous on stage.

Monday – Paul McCartney – Barclay Center – Final of two night residency.

Tuesday – Sinatra In The Park – City Parks Foundation Summerstage – Given the patented City Winery stars perform covers of one artist treatment.

Tuesday – The Postelles -Studio At Webster Hall Their latest is pretty catchy power pop and rumor has it they are excellent live.

Wednesday – Face To Face – Gramercy Theater – Great punk rock old timers. Did you get your free tix from us?

Wednesday  – Andrea Bocelli – Prudential Theater – The Luciano Pavarotti of the 21st Century, meaning opera for the masses.

Wednesday – Dropkick Masses – The Paramount – Irish American rockers to beat in 2013.

Wednesday – Willie Nelson – NJPAC – Sleepy time with this well past his prime country legend.

Thursday – Swans – Warsaw – Purveyors of art noise are back.

Thursday – Junip – Highline Ballroom – Krautrocky-y songs from Sweden

Friday – Peter & Paul -Westbury – Bye bye Mary

Friday – Sons Volt – Bowery Ballroom – Remembering alt country

Friday – The Postal Service – Barclay Center –  Jenny Lewis, Ben Gibbard, some other bloke’s early band.

Saturday – City Parks Foundation Summerstage – Zombies – 60s garage rockers behind “She’s Not There”. For free.

Saturday – The Manhattan Transfer – BB Kings – This is funny: Spotify dissed the close vocal harmony band in their bio! I’ve never seen that before. I bet they play “Boy From New York City”!

Sunday – 98 Degrees – Barclay’s Center – Black harmony band from the 1990s reunited in 2012.

Sunday – Lambchop – Warsaw – With one of 2012s best albums under his belt, should be ready to beautify every thing he touches.
