T-t-t-talkin Bout My Generation- By Mary Magpie

Why do kids in my school listen to Justin Bieber? The answer is plain, simple, and painful. They’re easily swayed by the media.

They think he’s “hot”, I think he looks like he’s eight. They say his voice is incredible, I say that it’s worse than generic; worse than horrid. They want to love the “next big thing” no matter how untalented it is.
Even bands that I have liked that were considered “alt” have shown up in teenybopper magazines(The Summer Set). I hope that bands are successful, but it’s kind of weird to see and alternative band turn to generic pop transformed to make stereotypical “preps” happy as it plays in Hollister while they’re picking out short shorts for the season.
It’s a bittersweet way to see a band you once loved become so popular by people the opposite of you, but hey, it’s more concert tickets bought meaning the band can thrive.

What is wrong with my generation?
