King Sunny Ade Tour Delayed Due To Tragedy

In the early eighties King Sunny Ade -a player of the Nigerian Juju Music, heavier and more intricate drumming than African World music as we were used to it, was all set yo become that years Ravi Shankar and unfortunately that is what he remained.
despite being embraced if misunderstood by the rock communnity he returned to obscurity.
For some.
Ade  is still considred a master (and when I saw him perform a four hour set, long winded) master and still has a fan base in the Us.
Set to play in New York May 18th at the Highline Ballroom,it appears as though they will play despite the death of  drummer Gabriel Ayanniyi,  and percussionist  Omo Olope in a car accident. However, the first three dates on the tour have been canceeled.
Our condolences to King Sunny Ade and his band.
