Comment: Comparing Paul Simon to Ezra Koenig seems to make the case for devolution. However great Vampire Weekend are, can they compete with Paul Simons first three solo albums? As good as “Ya Hey” is, the song is too busy. They lack simplicity, easy Simon’s “Peace Like A River” is simple and complicated at the same time, Christgau dubbed it : “William Carlos Williams after the repression”.
