A Day In The Life: Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013 Remembered

For no intelligent reason whatsoever, I have decided to start a new occasional column whose sole purpose is to look back at a recent day and add nothing of intelligence to the concept of what the day meant in the grand scheme of things. In others, a typical rock nyc column….

So how did Tuesday April 23rd feel to you? I had a busy day at work, streamed the new Iggy Pop album on NPR but have no hard and fast feel for it right now, caught Maceo Parker at the Blue Note with Tomas Doncker, and felt lousy all day long.

What else happened on Tuesday, the new Phoenix album was released and I’ll give it a preliminary B+, I’ll give the Edie Brickell and Steve Martin a B, maybe a B+ later but I am not sure yet, Fantasia an A-..

In the news, AP’s twitter account got hacked and the Dow Jones fell by 100 points in a minute, and the Knicks are up 2 – 0 in the first round of the playoffs. The US is still obsessed with the Boston Marathon bombing making you wonder what Yanks would do if they lived in downtown Baghdad.

It is cold in New York and that makes six months of lousy weather by my reckoning.

My Facebook page is getting close to 3000 friends, and the website numbers hasn’t bounced back to their own highs which weren’t all that high anyway, come to think of it.

Gossip, the best one is a X-Factor loser Ella Henderson ‘s (she came in 6th last year)parents got arrested for money laundering.  Much better than Buble telling Reese he’d scarp the “Something Stupid” cover if she isn’t happy with it. I’m thoroughly miserable with the sucker myself, so if she doesn’t mind…

Sharon Osbourne didn’t know Ozzy was back on drugs, Calvin Harris had a drink thrown at him, the lead singer of Forever The Sickest Kid got arrested for selling counterfeit watches, Rihanna has had 10 # 1 hit singles,  and Will I Am admits to borrowing a song without permission (isn’t there another word for that?).
