Active Viewin': Concert Picks Week Of April 15th, 2013

Terrific last December with the Monkees, but he was leaning hard on his Monkee hits and Michael Nesmith isn't even leaning hard on, or at all except for "Different Drum" on his And The Hits Just Keep On Coming album on his current solo tour. But this Tuesday at Town Hall, who really cares. It is one of the great relatively unsung songwriters on our times. So go.

Monday – Muse _MSG – The Arena rock band to beat, English division, with a better set than U2 and better songs than Coldplay, this should be worth the price(y)  of admission.

Wednesday – Metz – Canadian hardcore at its best

Thursday – The Joy Formidable – Webster Hall – Welsh rockers with a handful of killer tracks

Friday – Diana Krall – Can she survive married life with her girsts intact. Debatable based on the last couple of albums. Which tanslates to… maybe.

Saturday – The Rascals – Richard Rodgers Theater – It says here 30 big hits, but I can only count seve. So maybe we will get "Groovin'" twice

Sunday – Melissa Manchester – BB Kings – Definition of nid-70s MOR, wall paper for the soul.
