The big rumor of the past 72 hours goes like this:
1. Taylor and opening act Ed Sheeran were dating
and
2. Now they aren't.
OK, got it. I am not sure what Swift's foreign policy is with these boys though I have completely suspended all belief in any of this stuff. I just plain don't believe it at all, it is all a smokecreen and a PR stunt. Nobody as successful as Taylor would hold up her personal life to such relentless scrutiny if it was for real. And simply put, with Ed Sheeran? I don't believe it, it is just one too many.
Then Ed went on the record to deny there was anything going on between the pair and after that everybody was kinda bummed because it would make a nice story and TS hasn't had a boyfriend story in awhile.
My own feeling is there is probably only one grown up romance in Taylors' history (that we are aware of) and that is Jake Gyllenhaal (and thank God that didn't stick, I wouldn't want to be spelling his name twice a week for the rest of my life) and everything else has been puppy fluffy stuff.
And perhaps giving the story up to the paparazzi is good business, it probably frees her up to disappear when it is something she wants out of the public eye. I mean, there is enough raw meat to keep them happy meanwhile whoever the real TS is can hide in plain sight. Or perhaps there is an innocence to her dealings but after all these years I can't imagine information being afforded that wasn't already chosen.
I don't blame Taylor for orchestrating a publicity coup d'etat that has been as successful in its own way as her music,: by dating boys so much younger than she is, Taylor has managed to remain a sort of modern times Doris day, despite the press best attempts there is something squeaky clean about her. She even dodged the John Mayer bullet.
And for somebody who appears to be letting you into her deepest feelings, her transparency lacks transparency. i just don't believe it. And, no folks, Ed didn't get anywhere, and, no folks, we don't really know who did. Except for Jake of course,
