Punk Goes Classic Rock the latest in the series of ‘Punk Goes.. ‘ that contain no punk bands is available for streaming in dribs and drabs.
I listened to Mayday Parades “We Are The Champions” and immediately handed it to my colleague. I love Mayday Parade and I didn’t want my image of them tainted on this monstrosity.
Here’s her take an it:
We are the Champions” originally performed by Queen but covered by Mayday Parade is…crazy.
Mayday Parade can never do wrong. Never can anyone beat out original Queen no matter how hard you try, but WOW does Mayday get close.
Definitely a step up from any other cover they’ve done, I could totally listen to it forever. This kind of music, opposed to their usual alternative pop-rock-punk is more of a strength than anything else. It’s such a rush and there’s not one part that makes you want to change the song. Not a single flaw in the entire song, it’s stunning to see Mayday like this, at their best.
I completely, totally, without a doubt, one hundred percent recommend this song if you have extra iTunes money. Or time.
Mayday Parade ARE the champions- Mary Magpie
Shes tone deaf.
I took on Forever The Sickest Kids “Crazy Train”
Screech. What the hell is this karaoke crap. I’m saddened at the complete lack of originality. Its literally a voice over. I’m disappointed in the lackluster production. I’m a big fan of this series, this is just plain bad. Almost a parody, where is Werd Al. Wait its like classic rock night on the Love Boat.. this sucks
