Five months in last year I posted about how 2009 wasn’t happening. It improved but go back and take a look if you don’t believe me. Three weeks into 2010 and it is gearing up to be a GREAT YEAR for music. Either released or about to the following ALBUMS(!!!!) are mindboggling brilliance…
Animal – Ke$ha – Pop princess gets drunk and fucks over asshole guys.
Contra – Vampire Weekend – Better then the first, just about flawless.
Transference – Spoon – We had a name for this when I was growing up. Alternative Rock.
IRM – Charlotte Gainsbourg – Not just Charlotte’s but also Beck’s best work in years
Shinobi Ninja First Album – Where Are You?
Titus Andronicus – The Monitor – Every song I’ve heard off this album is glorious and brilliant
Holiday Rain – Chris Nessing’s band, four great songs are streaming at myspace right this second.
Any or all of these albums might make my Top Ten of 2010. All of them will definitely make my best of 2010. No dance (Ke$ha is synth pop) or hip hop… YET!!
