1. Walking Back To Happiness – Helen Shapiro – A huge hit in the early 60s, the hook, the “hoop hah oh yeah” is the closest the UK ever got to trouncing US girl groups, an infectious blast – A+

2. Your Heart Belongs To Me – Jarrod Dickenson – Off the great folkies upcoming EP, this is as sweetly melodic a story of true love and its executed with an acute passion at odds with the cynical and distraught Jarrod we’ve known before (well except for “Come What May”) – A

3. Radioactivity – Kraftwerk – Uses the Vaco-Orchestron for a swelling choir like come to the Church effect – A

4. Roving Eye – James Chance And The Contortions – A funking skronking jazz fusion masterpieces, one of his greatest moments – A+

5. The Last Time Live 1965 – The Rolling Stones – Forget anything else, the girls screaming sound like another instrument! – A+

6. Unconditional Love – Against Me! – The background shouts are brilliant – A

7. White Cannibal – James Chance – Walks all the way on a bass line – B+

8. The Maker Makes – Rufus Wainwright – A real beauty off the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack – B+

9. Beautiful – Carole King – Title track from the musical which I WENT TO LAST NIGHT!!! – A-

10. The Northern Sea – Jarrod Dickenson -“hell will freeze before the Northern sea…” Ahh, now that is Jarrod swinging for the fences!  Epic story song – A-
