1 – Nobody Hangs Out Anymore – London O’Connor – This is the modern equivalent of bedsitland, a place where young people mope to a purpose, but it is great, a beautiful low key triumph for the rap slash singer songwriter wondering where the good times have gone – A-
2 – Freedom – Pharrell Williams – Pharrell has been in the wilderness since “Blurred Lines” but this is a return to full on power, an excellent piano beats Gospel mash up – B+
3 – Finna Get Loose – Puff Daddy And The Family – Pharrell is back to put a band aide on a business who was always better at business than rap. This is catchy, ok rap, but nothing special – C+
4 – There Is No Ice (In My Drink) – Thom Yorke – From last year’s solo album which finally made its way to Itunes and is now all over Apple Play – B+
5 – The Swan – Yo-Yo Ma – His name sounds like a dis on an old school rap record – B-
6 – Tomorrow Maker – Mocky – Ambient mood music, not bad – B
7 – Girl – The Internet – In which Syd The Kid drops the kidding, on this slow and sexy jam – B+
8 – After The Goldrush – Neil Young – Mother nature on the run – A
9 – Only Love Can Break Your Heart – Neil Young – It sounds like mother nature on the run for a different reason – B+
10 – Love Child – Bilal – If you’re gonna call your album “Love child” you better do a lot better than this with it- C
