1. The Tale Of Sir Robin – Monty Python – Terrific olde English minstrel song about the cowardly Sir Robin, Knight of the Round table. After fighting for seconds and seconds Eric Idle scarpers, his retreat immortalized in song: “When trouble reared its ugly head, he bravely turned  his tail and fled” – B+

2. Contort Yourself – James Chance And The Contortions – – With a voice like a foghorn and a brass section skronking out three notes – A

3. Crying For No Reason – Katy B – Big disco ballad, sounds like Robyn… and that’s a major compliment – –

4. If She Called – David Crosby – My first major whoops of the year, didn’t get a ticket for Crosby at City Winery, this acoustic ballad is more weirdly off kilter than cute – B+

5. Islands In The Stream – Bee Gees – That chorus, the ‘from one lover to another a ha” is so sticky it could replace horses – A

6. Together – Disclosure – Nice falsetto vocal on this soul dance track – A-

7. Nirvana – Sam Smith – Great harmonies (or double tracking) on this electronic beauty – A

8. Luv, Hold Me Down – Drowners – The best thing about this nyc band is their scrappy attitude even on a full fledged devotion track like this – B+

9. Easy Please Me – Katy B – Killer disco song “It’s not that easy, it’s not that easy, these days can’t find a man to please me
Their lines are far too cheesy, No boy is on a level, believe me” – A

10. Nightingale – Hospitality – Strangely paced song with a blues riff morphing to a lo fi folkiness – B-
