1 – Believe- Mumford And Sons – In which the former folkies attempt to widen their base by going for the rock sound of an earlyish U2… because, in rock, that’s where the money is: songs to be sung in stadiums where “I don’t know if I believe” and “tell me I’m alive” approximate deep emotions.” Ufortunately, they are a lot closer to a late period Coldplay. In artistic terms, a total disaster, in touring terms, who knows? – C-
2 – Free Love – MOD SUN – This is sort of old fashioned, a classic rock song with a rap I the middle – C+
3 – Never Been Better – Olly Murs – Great title for a something of a downer dance track – C+
4 – Walk – Pantera – Changing the face of modern metal circa 1990s and getting murdered for their troubles – B+
5- Awkward Arm – Royal Tongue – Catchy pop rock – B-
6 – See You Again – Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth – This year’s Sam Smith meets last year’s pot disciple (or do I mean the year before that) for a boring Fast And Furious sound track– C
7 –Thumbalina – Coleman Hell – catchy as all get out synth pop though a little irritating as well – C+
8 – Walk Out On Me (featuring Courtney Love) – Empire cast – Love is distinctively barnished and the song a slow burner – B+
9 – Whatever Makes You Happy – Empire Cast – Jumped up pleasure with an addictive chorus – A-
10 – Irish Heartbeat – Van Morrison – Classic Van track uses Mark Knopfler for that Local Hero vibe to astounding effect. A complete triumph – A
