1. Marry Me – Drive-By Truckers – Off their best album, this is a pure slice of Rolling Stones style hard country rock and holla by one Mike Cooley, which revs and revs to a blasting guitar solo before Cooley’s rasp takes em home – A
2. Everything – Katy B – It starts like a standard issue dance track but the emotional vocal suggest something more and the bridge begins the process of switching the buttons on and he straddles the line between song and dance track very well – A
3. As Long As She Needs Me – Michael Feinstein – He insist we hear every damn word but still, let’s forgive him because he gets all of the melody. PS: NBC needed to produce this musical, “Oliver”, not “Peter Pan” – B+
4. Born At The Right Time (Acoustic Demo) – Paul Simon – Just an acoustic guitar so you can hear every note of that wonderful double interlocking lick – A
5. Teenage Bonehead – The Queers – The xlcosest you can get to the Ramones without getting to the Ramones – A
6. Sour Times – The Civil Wars – Best Portishead cover ever – A
7. Massachusetts – Bee Gees – That’s Robin taking the lead – A-
8. Sun Structures – Temples – Nice organ grinding, though a little too much like what you’d expect to find on the soundtrack of – B+
9. Mission Creep – Cheatahs – Mood music but mostly because the vocal is a little low in the mix – B+
10. Boathouse – Noah Gundersen – Nice violin, prolly by one of his siblings – A
