When I remember, I add Elvis Crespo at MSG as one of the best sets I’ve ever seen.
He lived up to his name.
He was a total rock star.
But from 2000 Wow Flash on he failed to pick up the $ off the table. “Wow Flash” -an attempt to crack the US in the wake of Ricky Martin, was a disastrous career killer. Not only didn’t the songs sound right in English, but they were weakas Merengue.
Still, he deserved the crown. I mean, Tito Puentes and Celia Cruz maybe the names we all know but Milly and Elvis are the names we should and don’t know.
Indestructible is the one that should do it in a perfect world.
I’ve been thinking about my fave albums of 2010 and I think Elvis should be high up there but I haven’t listened to it enough to be certain. I have bought a song here and a song there for a week and finished it off yesterday and i can state definitely two of the songs are brilliant. But that’s it. I won’t stake my name on the rest of it.
Still, if it ain’t Pintame it’s the next best thing.
