Win Butler Tries To Get Political At NBA Celebrity Game

Win Butler

The fourth Celebrity Game MVP Award was back in Toronto this week and with a teamed coached by Drake and led by Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Tracy McGrady, team Canada crushed team USA, which was coached by funny guy Kevin Hart. The scores? 74-64, Butler was the steady and reliable force that team Canada needed, Kevin Hart has unretired for the circumstance, celebs like Spike Lee, Vin Diesel and Guy Fieri were in the stands, and people were attending the game to have fun. I mean just the idea of 5’4″ Kevin Hart and 6’4″ Win Butler playing against each other has to be hilarious! But count on Win Butler to ruin all the fun!

Speaking just after lighthearted Drake and funny Hart, Butler got the opportunity to speak on the mic, but when everyone was expecting him to comment on his team victory, as he was awarded MVP for his exploits, he went very, very political.

‘Thank you. I just want to say, as an election year in the U.S., the U.S. has a lot they could learn from Canada: healthcare, taking care of people….’

However, you could barely hear his sanctimonious discourse, he was cut off, the music started playing and the reporter who was interviewing him, didn’t even let him finish and said ‘we’re talking about celebrity stuff, not politics. Congratulations on your MVP!’

Look at Kevin Hart’s face during Butler’s political lesson, he seems to think, wtf dude, relax we are not here for this!
