Who Is Going To Leave The US If Trump Is Elected?

Lars Ulrich

If a growing number of people are backing up Donald Trump in the music business, there are many others who hate him and a few of them have even declared they would leave the country if he is elected. That may be complete wishful thinking for some of them but may be something more real for others. So which musicians are we going to lose if Trump is the next president of the US?

May be Miley Cyrus, who used Instagram at the beginning of this year to say how much she hates Trump calling him a ‘f—king nightmare’: ‘YOU DT ARE NOT GOD NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU ARE!!! (& if he doesn’t think he is “God” he thinks he is the f—king chosen one or some s—t! We’re all just f—king jam between his rich ass toes! Honestly f—k this s—t I am moving if this is my president! I don’t say things I don’t mean! )’ she wrote.

So count on a Miley-free America… Cher has also been a vocal critic of Trump, and she has been using Twitter to express her anger: ‘IF HE WERE TO BE ELECTED, I’M MOVING TO JUPITER,’ she wrote months ago, which shows how serious she is about the idea, but to be fair her Twitter feed is full of anti-Trump statements and plain insults directed to the GOP nominee, and she hasn’t stopped since this declaration, which was about a year ago

Barbra Streisand may migrate with Cher if Trump is elected, although she doesn’t want to go as far as the ‘Believe’ singer. In an interview on 60 Minutes with Australian Michael Usher, Streisand said that if Trump is elected, ‘I’m either coming to your country if you’ll let me in, or Canada.’

Did you notice? These are all women? But there are men too, like Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe who has openly spoken against Trump. In an interview with Metal Insider last year, he went even further: ‘I think he’s going to burn himself out. I think he’s going to say something so overarchingly stupid that people are finally going to be unable to accept what he’s saying anymore. But I almost think he’s a purposeful clown, a tool. I don’t know if he really wants to be President. He might just be a foil for the Republican party to say, ‘We gotta be tough right now in our international relations policy but not with this guy,’ so they’ll get someone who looks more moderate into office. They’ll say we still need to be strong, hawkish right now but no, not Donald Trump. I mean.. it’s ludicrous the things that he says. He’s making s–t up. I’m trying to read between the lines here and see if that’s what’s going on. If they’re in a back room somewhere and Donald Trump is saying, (in Trump voice), ‘I’m gonna say that we should pull a Nazi Germany maneuver and make all Muslims wear a yellow crescent moon on their arm’ like the Gestapo did with the Jews in Nazi Germany. He could just be a clown. If he is the president though, I am leaving America til he’s gone.’

And the last in date is Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, who declared during a recent interview with the Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet (via NME): ‘I am a hundred percent Danish citizen. I pay taxes in the U.S.A., but I can’t vote in America. Yes, certainly sometimes I think about moving home to Denmark. I’ll stick to my Danish passport, If Trump becomes President and everything goes to s—, I might make my way to the airport and ask if I can get back in again.’

There may be others but if this trend continues it seems we will have to do with less women and less Metal if Trump is elected?
