“In her first solo effort, Vicky-T takes center stage, showcasing her delicate, effervescent voice in a series of pop songs made for floating on a giant pineapple in the pool.”
– AudioFemme

” By taking a throwback 80s synth-pop and tweaking it with a few modern flourishes, including a larger-than-life singalong chorus, ‘Kryptonite’ immediately worms its way into your brain.
– The 405

Audiofemme has shared Vicky-T’s new track “Hollow”, as well as an in-depth interview. The 405shared Vicky-T’s video for her first track “Kryptonite”. The single is out now and will be featured on her EP ‘Vicky-T’ out later this year.

Born Victoria Asher, Vicky-T grew up in a highly creative environment with her father, multiple-Grammy-winning producer/manager/musician Peter Asher, and mother Wendy Worth, an art curator.  Half-English and half-American, growing up steeped in music, books, films and painting, Victoria has enjoyed a varied and exciting creative life thus far, defying definition and description – and she now looks to make her mark on the world with her infectious Synth Pop. As expected given her background, VickyT is a renaissance woman. She has a hand in all aspects of her work—songwriting, music production, vocals, and even directing her own music videos. The visual accompaniment is a huge part of her creative expression.

She studied film at Tisch at NYU and got to work with directors like Michel Gondry and Terry Gilliam while she was there.  She joined the band Cobra Starship (singing and playing keytar) and enjoyed several years of successful recording and touring.  She directed several videos for the band and also worked with director Thomas Cobb in creating the highly-lauded title sequence for “Orange is the New Black” and sang backup on a couple of successful records for other artists (varying from Miguel to Steve Martin & Edie Brickell!) among numerous other video and musical projects.

As the lines between the various art forms (film, television, music and the visual arts) seem to wobble and blur, we begin to focus our attention to those who can cross those imaginary boundaries with ease – and Vicky-T is clearly one such artist.  Her skills and passions extend over the arts as a whole and some explanation for this can be found in her multi-national and artistically broad background.

Victoria has now announced her first solo music venture under the name VickyT since being in the successful band Cobra Starship.  She has a hyper-catchy blend of danceable synth pop songs which will be released each month under her own record label Muted Color. Thus far she has released three singles – “Protect This Love”, “Push Comes to Shove” featuring Panic at the Disco’s Jon Walker and “Clouds.”

As Victoria throws her energy into not only this new music but into so many other varied creative ventures with her wide circle of friends, we can look forward to more surprises, more hits and a further breaking-down of traditional boundaries.
